The Augusta Broadway Singers

we are TABS

A Theatrical Ensemble

Our director and founder, Les Reagan, has always been drawn to Broadway and show music.  As a young person, he accompanied many high school theatrical productions and performed onstage in some as well.

In thinking about the group he would direct, Les kept returning to show music.  As conductor of more than 30 musicals, he realized the thing that kept him coming back to them was the Ensemble music…the choruses. And while TABS doesn’t always perform just the choruses, we do perform choral arrangements of showstoppers like “Children Will Listen” from Into the Woods or “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz.

One of the guiding principles of the music Les chooses is that it must have been performed on stage as part of a theatrical presentation.  That being said, we have glossed over that principle, at times, as a piece of music speaks to him with its theatricality.

Out of every season, we try to bring our audiences familiar and unfamiliar music…the kind that speaks to us and we hope that speaks to you.
